Lady Eboshi -　エボシ御前 [WIP]

Lady Eboshi is from the Studio Ghibli Anime movie “Princess Mononoke”[もののけ姫]. Her character is somewhat controversial. On one side she liberates women from the brothels and gives them work in their iron factory and a good life and protection but on the other side she destroys surrounding nature and provokes their gods in order to keep the facility running just for the good of producing a new generation of  firearms.

I have merged those two scenes from the movie and changed the Haori in shape a bit. The shadows and highlights have been swapped completely for special reasons. Again, I’ve tried to maintain the same color setting as known from the movie. Compared to my Nausicaä image, this one doesn’t contain a high level of detail.

The image is split into four layers: contours, colors, text and background. The background image is a photo of a bamboo forest with an applied aquarell filter.

The cel foil is print and coloring will start soon.
